The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners voted at its September 27 meeting to approve the Design Team Services contract award for the new Lancaster County Correctional Facility to TranSystems Corporation Consultants of Pennsylvania.

The selection comes after a thorough and multi-step review process by the LCCF Evaluation Committee, beginning with the issuance of an RFP in March 2023. The Evaluation Committee highlighted TranSystems’ recent new prison construction experience of similar size; its experience in working in 41 Pennsylvania counties; leadership in design for criminal justice facilities; and working relationships with project team leadership on previous projects.

The County anticipates having the Design Team under contract by early October 2023.
